Any replacement bits or special tools?
Or is it just the clutch kit I need really?

it pays to fit new diff seals and fork shaft nylon bush's, you will also need the correct gear oil ( 75/80 BV spec ) other specs are detrimental to PSA box's

i havent read all in the link below but quick glance tell you about PSA specific oil's,
looks an interesting web site

you NEED to remove the pin holding the actuating arm to the fork shaft, this allows the fork shaft to rotate and disengage the fork prongs/fingers from the thrust bearing on removing and re/fitting the box,
:) Cheers guys

ahhhh, found it. This pin thing :)

I think I looked on e-bay not long ago, and there were some of the bushes, but they were at least as much as the dealer price (which is not disasterous!). The pin sometimes refuses to come out - the only thing you can do then is cut the arm off and replace it, as you can't get the box off otherwise. You would be best advised to replace the inlet shaft / seal guide tube, which again is not that dear from the dealer (and used to be available from GSF I think).

Do not fit a Transmech clutch. Valeo (OE) would be the preference, but Sachs is probably OK.

ah, many thanks!

My alternator is Valeo. Cheers :)

These bushes, the dealer said he does not carry them in stock and so I have to buy the number that comes in the bags!

Clutch fork bearing top £2.18+vat MOQ of 5!
Clutch fork bearing bottom £2.83+vat MOQ of 4!
grrrr!

"replace the inlet shaft / seal guide tube", I need to figure out what these are :/

Thanks RichardW, romie :)

Try AEP in Glasgow, or Neat Car Parts for the fork bushes each. You might also try Gearchange who are on Ebay.

The part you refer to most recently is the tube which the thrust bearing slides on, and carries both the front bearing for the gearbox input shaft, and an oil seal. Can be had aftermarket as well, none are dear.

Aye; get an impact socket, six point thin wall. And a metre long "persuader". If you have steelies with the hole in the centre you can crack the nuts with wheels on. Might need a short extension to achieve the correct orientation.
