HDI HIGH PRESSURE PUMP

Car would not start last night had to walk home, looked at it tonight fuel to filter, but no fuel to common rail.
so am thinking the pumps knackered. cam is turning so drive belt should be okay. Are their many different
pumps or do all of 2lt HDI pumps fit. it's a 2lt Xantia Exclusive. many thanks for any help. Mik

Hi there.

ALL 8v HDi Pumps are the same NO MATTER if they are a 90bhp or a 110bhp.. and theres NO need for a Lexia to program it either..

Just swap and go!

How did you test the Pump operation? Did you crack open an injector union?

IF you are quite clever too, theres no need to remove the cam timing belt either! I have swapped a pump twice without removing the belt.. I let the pump pully with the belt still round it rest on the lower part of the belt area, removed the pump carefully and refitted. The HDi high pressure pump is NOT timed either! Just plonk it back on and tighten it all up.

Hi yes cracked open the unions to injectors then the common rail no fuel at any joints.

Its not unknown for the hdi pump on the engine to stop... as i said above any 2.0 8v 90bhp or 110bhp pump will do.
