Same as the xantia i guess. Run the engine theres a bleeder on the heater matrix out pipe and one on the side of the thermostat house and one on the top of the radiator too.. i run the engine and squeeze the top hose rigeriously.. if that doesnt work ill re fit the bleeders and go quickly up the road and back. The quick hard drive useually shifts any air locksm then ill re open the bleeders and see where we are up to. The heater pipe bleeder should give a fountain when you remove it OR if its flowing both will be warm..
Hdi have laminated gaskets from factory and issues are very rare although peter n still found some. (

Cheers Ben, I'll give it a go tomorrow. I'll invest in a new tank and cap first, then I can make a refilling bottle with the old cap and a 2 litre bottle I have.

Well, what does it mean when I take the coolant cap off a stone-cold engine (hadn't run for at least 20 hours) and it blows coolant out under considerable pressure?
It's @#$$ ed?
Ran it up to Woodley, 4 miles. Twas nice and hot and bubbling away to itself. I opened the header tank cap again and it bubbled over. I thought "sod it" and just went about my day of 20 miles or so. The fan came on when it should, it didn't "appear" to overheat but I really need Lexia on it to see live coolant temps.
I'm really not hopeful it just needs bleeding.

There is only one place that pressure can come from....but you know that

Yeah, caveat emptor and all that, but I've a feeling I've been stitched up here.
