Isn't the shunt the one that has 2 positions - a 'normal run' and a 'delivery' position - in delivery it isolates a lot of things to prevent the battery getting flattened - part of the PDI is to move it. If it's gone back in the wrong slot that may account for the problems.

Or I may have dreamed the whole thing..... #-o

I wouldn't know. I only mentioned it in my first post as the RAC guy removed it to clear the fault on my Picasso, as well as myc5 mentioning it in his starting post. I wonder if it has two positions, and it is now in the delivery option?

Hi wheeler thanks for your reply and advise. I am sure all the fuses are correct. The central dash display says "engine immobiliser fault" I dont remember the orange key light. I dint have the ignition on when I removed the SH fuse, I have tried both keys, the remote suddenly stopped working about 6 months ago, I have replaced the button battery and no joy. I will try your suggestion and advise. Thanks again
Question what is a CUSTOMER PARK SHUNT as per manual against SH fuse?

Guys and girls................I can not say a big enough THANK YOU to everyone who spent time helping me with this problem........you are all GREAT!!! The car now starts after following the battery reconnection method from myglaren and citronut. It took quite a while but obviously worth it. Thank you everyone again from a very cold and wet Isle of Skye..........cheers!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)

That is GREAT news :-D :-D . I am glad that the experts on the forum have been so much help (even if I was not). Now you know why it is so well used.

James

PS you may well find that if there were any problems prior to pulling that "SH" fuse have been resolved by the battery routine. Have you tried the key fob to see if it now works? If it doesn't, try following the routine for resetting the keyfob after swapping ITS battery (obviously not the battery of the car). J

PPS I wouldn't say that Skye was cold and wet. Just that the seabed wanted to see what the sky looked like, and found it so beautiful it stayed up and renamed itself.

Wheeler - Many, many thanks. Last night friend's C5 refused to start. Previous efforts had no effect.
At 10 pm, found your post on my phone and it worked first time. Genius and saviour!
