Citroen C3, which oil?

Hi all,

What is the correct oil to use in a 2005 Citroen C3 1.4 HDi 16v? No hand book with the car.

Im thinking fully synthetic 5w/40? Will this harm the particle filter if there is one?

MOBIL 1 ESP FORMULA 5W-30

I think fully synthetic is recommended for DPF engines. Mobil is my choice of oil, but it can be dearer than other brands. Citroen garages would probably use the Total equivalent.
Ask a hundred owners and you will get a fair few different opinions. Some say the cheapest you can find and change it more often ?? Some say any old crap will do, but engine oil is too important to skimp on in my opinion.Higher quality oils tend to suspend carbon particles better than cheap stuff. Basically, you get what you pay for.

Fully Synthetic LONG LIFE 5 w 30 is the oil to use and is essental to be used too for the Turbo and DPF stuff! Anything thicker will give you turbo problems far sooner then needed..
