:-D they also sell some rather good food and wine, we do all our shopping there - the main criticism I hear is that there isn't as much "choice" so if you have one kind of chocolate biscuit you like what's the point in going to a shop that stocks 20 variations but charges more for your biscuit?
kissing the lash
white van (turbo, computer and built by Citroen, what could possibly go wrong!)
orange 2cv
blue 2cv( been to the Sahara and back)
red Dyane( in bits)
Skoda (thank goodness there is a teutonic vehicle on the drive)
Stainless Siemens fridge freezer

Over here we do a lot of shopping in Lidl, mainly for milk because it's cheapest there, and some fruit and veg.. They do some "citron muffins" which are quite nice too. When in the UK I hardly go in there, mainly because they don't accept credit card, and it's easier for me to just walk to asda (or iceland, or tesco)

Also it's a shame that they sometimes have something just for a month, like they had some really nice Frozen Battered Haddock, about 6+months ago, never seen since.

My son was just up at Lidl yesterday buying some motorcycling stuff and was impressed with their freshly baked bread and range of fresh produce.

He had to ask where it was, despite driving past it weekly for the past five months while he has been off work after crashing his bike - he passes it on the way to hospital and his sister used to work there until a ton of coca-cola tipped on her foot and she ended up in crutches too.

Aldi are going to be doing air equipment next Thursday. Could be useful if anybody was needing to outfit a workshop;

Last time in Lidl, a couple of weeks ago, I noticed there were still quite a lot of snow chains

I wouldn't be surprised if they cut the price some time

I bought a pair on eBay in August for £5, but it might not hurt having a second pair if they get cheaper

Well, Lidl are doing what looks like some useful bits next Monday (and I don't think they are fooling despite the date!);

Not necessarily car related...
Bought one of those spirit levels yesterday over here. They seem quite good.
Magnetic, with a laser and a light for seeing the level better, comes with what seems like a fairly silly tripod, but it fits my camera perfectly :)
