I know when these lamps have been offered in Lidl, they usually carry stocks of the H1s as well. Might be worth a looksee. Thought the cordless 60 led inspection lamp worth the money.

I'm trying to figure out what I could use the Mens Personal Hair Remover for. Another variation on CBS? #-o [-X 8-[

Hello again all,

Lidl have got more kit available next Monday, mainly for winter;

http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg//lid ... =2&nf=TRUE" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But make sure you set it for your location. This is for my nearest, Basingstoke Road, Reading.

some Aldi/Lidl stuff is brilliant and some is not worth the cost of the packaging. a simple rule is avoid any thing electrical.... but i've found the tools to be quite good, not snap-on/MAG quality but close to Holfords quality.... but WAY cheaper.
over on the VW or MIg welding forum(cant remember which) someone bought a torque wrench for dirty jobs and for kicking about the workshop - when tested it was more accurate than the snap on one!
the battery chargers are great value as they seem to be old model c-teck which were at least twice the price
fire extinguishers are always good value too.

There was a product test done in RiDE Magazine in about 2000-2001 on torque wrenches. the Snap-On one came in the bottom of the pile in the blind test. But once they had it re calibrated it was then the most accurate. Funnily Halfords and Draper Pro came in as best value for money on almost all there tool tests.

If Lidl (or Aldi for that matter) repeat their £20 trolley jacks and you're tempted, check that there's a handle inside the box before they run out of stock. The one I bought (and didn't open for nearly a month) didn't have one so not much use. No problem with getting a refund, just wasted time and I still don't have a trolley jack!

I notice our local Lidl have snow chains and bottle jacks at the moment as well as the combi sets mentioned above.

When I look on the Lidl or Aldi sites, they show what is available in my area (as they have my postcode). There will be regional differences. I am more than happy for others to add to this post to cover for the differences.

I usually check the sites every couple of days to catch the updates. Lidl normally have updates every Monday and Thursday, while Aldi is Sunday and Thursday.

Just seen the weather forecast, and it looks like there may be snow this week. I wish I had had snow chains when Basingstoke made the news a few years ago. I was there, left the client at 15:15, got home at 00:15, and I live in Reading, 27 miles away.

Only thing I always think with Snow Chains is that for being able to get home sooner is that everyone else needs to have them too.
If the UK made it a legal requirement to at least have chains (or equivalent) in the car during the winter months, with the exception of those with M+S tyres, then those times of heavy snow fall would become far easier.

I wasn't wishing for snow now (I now have snow chains), I was wishing I had had snow chains when I got caught in the bad weather a few years ago.

To those who managed to get snow chains, well done. Fun, aren't they? I'm not sure which brought the bigger smile to my face, getting up slopes that had others stumped, or watching BMWs or Mercs wallowing behind me as they tried to follow!
