Have you tried using another key in case the chip in the first key is broken?

Lexia is for citroen , you`re looking for PP2000/Diagbox , although they all run of same hardware ,
the car is only burning the easy start but at least its turning over , first port of call would be recode the keys , Pug are renowned for losing the keycodes because of weak battery`s , i take it you jump started it because of a weak battery ?

im in Glastonbury...... the girl i got it from had her dad try starting it from a jump pack, i just put a good 700 cranking amp battery on it , the most annoying bit is i am a mechanic, i work for a plant hire company so have a workshop etc and as i have only worked in plant hire for years, i have never bothered with learning all this computerised modern car electronics, which in situations like this it has buggered me up lol

It may be the battery removal/replacement sequence that has caused the immobiliser problem. I had it happen to me once when I rushed the process to get to work one morning when the car wouldn't start and I put a fresh battery in. Worked OK that evening when I did it properly.

Have a look at the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure and give it a shot, won't break anything and may work for you.

Did you try the BSI reset as myglaren posted above ? :) , there's no cost to this only a bit of time. It sometimes can help as above they can get 'upset' at bad batteries sometimes. I do sometimes wonder if there should of been some protection against this kind of problem, older ECU's would not be upset or corrupted by battery voltage concerns.
Andy.
