"Detailing" Grrr its called car cleaning

I suppose in this world of silly posh name tags dustmen are now called "Cleansing Technicians"

Anyway back on topic, I bought the said GoodYear wiper blades from Costco.

Bin men are now called, I am reliably told, "Recycling/Refuse operative".

I'm going to Costco tomorrow, I'll get a set for the Berlingo if there are any in. Wipers that is, not binmen.

From the POV of justifying fees, I see a strong need for distinction between the amateur owner's "car cleaning" and detailed sequences undertaken by specialists.

Im going to stand up for the car 'detailers' here. To me car cleaning is going out with a bucket and sponge (hopefully a microfiber wash mitt! ) and giving the car a quick wash. Car detailing is going further, just as it says, going to detail in order to perfect the cars paintwork finish. There is so much more to it than the word cleaning covers. It might well have been an American derived term, however it makes sense to me.
