C5 remote

Unread post by Peter.N. »

The remote central locking doesn't work on my newly acquired C5 2.0 Hdi (yesterday) it locks from the door but not from the fob, I have had a look inside and it seems to have a very simple PCB compared with the XM, the battery is reading 2.85v which I would have thought was enough. I have heard comments about syncing them, could that be the problem or do I have a fault?

Thanks

Peter.

Try putting the key into the ignition and turning it to live but not starting the car, then press and hold the lock button for approx 10 secs. Turn the ignition off, and see if it now locks with the plip.

I got mine working by turning the ignition on and pressing each button in turn.

Funny old world, just got the same problem on mine. I was away at the time (yesterday) and thought the battery had given in, but tried my spare today with the same result. Tried the key in, ignition ON thing, but no cigar. - To my garage next for a reprogramming, I guess.
Seems there is a bit of experience with these - that's a surprise.

Still haven't been able to sort mine out, I will have a go at it with the Lexia when I find out how.

Had the remote central locking problem with my 54-reg C5 last year.

First I thought it was the remote battery, replaced it to no avail.

What finally fixed it was disconnecting the car battery for ten minutes.

I had that problem last month and solved using the key in the drivers door lock.

After that the problem was solved...
