I put a K&N 57i induction on my 205 1.6gti & it is quite kangarooey (good word) up to about 3500rpm but better on fast acceleration. This is the only car I have ever had run a bit rough after fitting one of these.
Any advice please?
You may have to increase the mixture slightly to compensate for the increase in air although I'd stick the stock air filter back quickly to check its nothing else first, you may of caught a wire or dislodged something. I'd do this myself before attempting any adjustment just in case something else is amiss.
Andy.
91 205D-Turbo, gone but still missed
02 106D, TUD5B, gone but not really missed apart from the MPG
Just in the process of changing it back to see if it is anything else before I blame the K&N.
Also the only one I have had no induction noise from at all. Had them on all 3 Williams & got a lovely racket!
Thanks for advice, will update shortly

Looking at the stock 205 GTI intake, it seems to be engineered for calming the airflow in three places, also it sucks in cold air.
Looking at the K&N Setup, there is no airflow calming whatsoever, and it sucks in hot air.
I suspect it confuses your MAP. Pull the plug off the sensor and see how it runs then.
OK I will, I have placed the cold air feed directly onto it though & the filter does sit at the front now instead of directly over the manifold.
Let ya know.
