I suppose I should do a quick update. I've been waiting to do a full proper one but I've not had enough time to just sit down and crack on with it without any distractions.

Right, XM sunroof is almost there, it's not leaking at all but its now slightly too big for the hole in the roof. I did get it the right size but by the time I took the new seal off and repainted it it became too big again and wouldn't sit proper. Thats on the back burned for a few days at least.

I started up the G yesterday after a good week of not touching it to move it over a bit and she fired up lovely. Last night I stripped down the rear part interior to get a better look at the lightweight rear inner sill. The OS has rusted more than the NS, I've gone round and tapped the really loose stuff out, the rust comes right over to the rear bench seat mountings, one of the bolts doesn't need to be take out

Tyre wise, I've decided to go for a full set of 145 Michelins.

I've got a quote for a few bits from Chevronics, a couple of the bits I don't need anymore as I've been given them by fellow G owners Chris Salter and Grant!

Next weekend we're going to the Conservatiore! In our little group there are 4 of us taking 2 GSAs, Tiffany and Ron. I'm looking forward to driving Ron the GSA Pallas SE part way to Dover! Citroenmad and his Dad are going along with a good few others!

Good choice with the tyres, Gs really look the part on the original Michelin X style tyres.

Ron and Tiffany, when i met them no one said they had names!

We are indeed, I can not wait, just finished booking my hotels for the trip. :-D Im going in my car without a name, its 'the C5'

It was nice to meet you Kev at the Cxm , I'm looking forward to your Gs pics and no doubt a few from the conservatoire , hope you have a great time . I'll post the details of that rust treatment / protection up I was telling you about . It could save you quite a bit of time on your Gs .

It was good to finally meet you too Mark :)

This will be another quick update as I'm feeling knackered. I can feel the first bit of the winter blues coming along so I'll have to keep on top of that and make more of an effort to get outside.

Saturday afternoon I popped over to see PeterN, kettle was on and a plate of Kit Kats at the ready as per usual 8-) I had an enjoyable afternoon with him and his wife along with the various visitors that popped in and out  We also got his Lexia sorted.
On the way back I saw a sign advertising the Axminster Carnival Procession, it would have been rude not to go along! I can recommend it, its a pretty big one and most of them were very impressive, you could see a lot of effort had gone into them. Must admit that one of the big floats, Sidvale CC's 'Bump in the Night', had me wobbling at the knees slightly with a few rather attractive women donning corsets and fishnets :-D

I spent most of yesterday working on Annabelle, the rear wing holes just keep getting bigger and bigger. To start off with I wasn't going to worry about the NSR until I thought I'd better give it a quick tap just to be sure its solid. Many thanks to Malcolm and Anthony (not a forum person) for their various bits of advice on doing the job here :)

Once it's cleaned up a bit more, the plan is to make up and weld two new sections here. One covering up the big hole into the boot which will be welded from the inside at the top, arch side on the bottom and another past the subframe mount which will be welded from the arch completely.

Good progress with your GSA there, looks fairly clean in other areas in those pictures. Good luck with the welding, it'll be back on the road in no time at this rate! Its sure to pull you out of your winter blues too, what an achievement to weld a car and get it back on the road after so many years. Tbh, that is no worse than the Transit van I drive at work, im not quite sure how that goes through MOTs. T'is very handy for checking the tyre treads from the inside though!

I've done this welding job too many times of various G's before - least it's easy to access and work on!
Worth it though and pretty much a prerequisite on keeping most G's on the road. The other favourite
is rebuilding the front undertray and keep an eye on those sills...

A bit of newspaper, chicken wire and lots of filler and it'll be a proper job Kev

You'll be a very good welder when you've done that lot but at least it's all flat panels. A really great project!
