Just watched that video of the car running on its own oil, if that happens to you and the car has manual transmission put the car in top gear 5th or 6th and with your foot firmly on the foot brake stall the engine by letting the clutch out slowly.

@ Uncle Buck - sound advice - alternatively, into the engine bay with a handful of coat etc, wad up the air intake thoroughly and choke the b@stard to death. I have heard that hitting the engine start/stop chokes the engine anyways (as opposed to PSA XUD which I thought cut the fuel) in which case hitting the start/stop might actually starve the engine of air.

In any case, the round trip to France was > 2000 miles I reckon and all okay. Had a fault where engine didn't want to rev >2000 rpm and gave glow plug (electronics) light when pushed (then worked okay after light came up). Renault Minute in France said it was MAF sensor - disconnected and 1000 miles later still running fine. Have brand new MAF (£30 in eBay vs > 200 euros in France with Renault) to fit - came today as bought whilst in France to be delivered on first day back. Would haev fitted by now, but it is raining....

Otherwise, car is going well.
