3008 ventilation

Got a good one to sort out

Peugeot 3008 18 months old.
Driving back through France a couple of days ago, started off OK in the morning with a nice breeze through the ventilation system. Put the aircon on when it got a bit warm everything OK nice and cool.
During the trip up noticed it was getting a bit hot and sticky inside the car, put hand in front of the vent and there was not a lot happening, the blower was on max but only a small air flow could be detected. Thought the pollen filter needs replacing. Got home went to bed. Next day decided to pop around to the dealer to get a new filter and ask how to get the old one out, started car, everything was now back to normal good flow of air through ventilation system etc. anyone got any clues? I know its under warranty but its sods law trying to explain the problem when its working OK. The car has manual ventilation not climate control.

That does sound strange, it sounds like one of the motors which operates the heater directional flaps might be iffy. Though I would more suspect that on the digi climate control ones. I would send it into the dealer and see what they say, or monitor it as you still have 18 months of warranty remaining.

What do you think to the 3008?

Its an odd looking thing but I like it, really like the driving position, the fact its quite different to look at, spacious and seems very innovative inside. It also gets great economy figures and its a good sized car.

"What do I think of it" that's a good question, mixed its a 1.6HDI
Suspension is I think terrible at least compared to my old C5 what with the roads in such a bad state of repair everywhere journeys are rather jumpy and bumpy the suspension is rather tight.
Yes the room is good inside and the boot figures suggest space in the boot is as good as the C5 I can confirm it. The seating position is good for a 6 footer like me I don't have to have legs either side of the steering wheel as before. Its easy to get in and out ( once you get used to the very racked windscreen) as you sit higher in the car, saves on the bones as we get older and stiffer
Consumption I am happy with, we have been in France for the past 3 months and the computer shows 55 and a bit MPG over that period, up hills and down dales motorway etc, much much better then my C5 2.2HDI auto. Its got the flappy paddle gearbox, its an acquired taste, not like a standard auto but with a bit of thought not too bad, I tend to lift off the throttle when changing up that way you don't get the jerk when it changes. The auto handbrake is a handy feature and RFL of only about 90 quid a year.

All in all not too bad if only the suspension was a bit more forgiving it would be perfect.

It is a shame that modern French cars are becoming very firm riding. The DS5 sounds similar, actually it reminds me of the 3008 in a lot of ways an no doubt shares many parts. Does yours have the huge alloy wheels? That might make the ride worse if so. Your economy is excellent though and the RFL makes it a very cheap car to keep. The EGS gearboxes do take a bit of getting used to but they seem good for efficiency, unlike a conventional auto.

I think you will need to get the 3008 on to a diagnostic machine, it could be anything. Does your version have the carbon monoxide sensors, for,traffic,,these shut off the air supply

Chris, They are the 17" wheels option. Glad I don't have the 18" because of the price to replace them.

Lighly. Haven't a clue if it has sensors. The air supply was shutting down when we were on the Auto-route cruising at 70 mph.

So far it hasn't repeated itself.
Its due for a service in a few months will bring the subject up then, if the problem doesn't come back.

Hi,
I've had the s/h 2013 3008 a week,and went to renew the cabin filter.In the bottom of the cubby hole was a white plastic link arm,290mm long, that had come adrift.Any idea where it connects with please.
A drawing/sketch would help?

It's probably part of one of the reduction motor kits, but we'll have a better idea when you provide your VIN.

There's nothing like that showing as a separate part

It does show a bowden cable from the control so this may link to where it should be

I looked on e-bay but couldn't see a heater box with enough detail to show where it might have come from.

I've just seen the part in position on YouTube.
It's the Cabin Air Filter change by Marco Pereira, and the white link arm sits horizontal,not vertical as I was thinking.

I would like to know where is the air intake (interior and exterior) I did try Google and other sites but could not find it. If someone has an air vent diagram or location would be very helpful.
