Nice one chris.. despite a S2 car.. <runs and hides> Good work where anyone else would of given up...

Ive probably done the same with my S1 V6 24v, with all the rust, most would of not bothered...

I should put my 24v Blog up on here really so whats been done can be seen by few that dont visit XM .co .uk

If XM Restoration was an Olympic event Paul, Chris would win gold, silver and bronze for the huge reserves of Percy Whatsit he has expended on this car...

Reading the whole thread here in one sitting earlier myself it reads like some kind of
torment/punishment for being a Citroen owner so I salute you and your determination
to not let it beat you Chris!

The nearest I can say I've been in a similar scenario was a clutch job on a favourite CX
GTi Turbo1 s1. I fitted the lot back together and checked out all the levels etc and was
good to go but the car wouldn't start. After a lot of head scratching it dawned on me I'd
dislodged the slug on the flywheel for the pick up crank sensor and despite all kinds of
clever plans to try and put it right the engine/box needed to come out again...

I swear I did a whole engine out and back in and running in about 2 hours as I was livid
and I'm sure I was running on pure unadulterated anger with myself and the circumstances.
The only flip side is the fact all the usual suspect awkward bolts etc undid having just been
visited a short while earlier. I KNOW how you've felt on this!!

Well done and enjoy using the car now you've seen off it's demons!!

Andrew

It's surprising how much a car can potentially throw at you  Really pleased for you Chris. This Marilyn Monroe quote seems rather fitting here
“If you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

Cheers for the comments guys :) I am in desperate need of assistance from someone with an XM background on the bonnet release though..... There is a joining block under the LHM tank (well at least there should be according to service citroen) Does anyone have one on a breaker? Perleaaaaaaaaaaaase :)

Yes very esily, i was looking at mine the other night, (bonnet release joiner that is) its just a bit or plate with two holes drilled in it with a little plastic box that sits over the top to hold the outers in place.
