C5 Boot Suspension Switch failure.

Unread post by Alec B »

Hi all, is this an easy fix. It 'bing-bongs' but the suspension doesn't move. We don't use it much but my kids like playing with it so if it's easy and cheap I'll fix it? We have just had the pump replaced if that has any links to problem, as it worked before it was replaced. Regards Alec.

never had mine 'bing-bong' but check if 12v socket still works, all on same fuse. which one depends on spec, easier to pull all out & check
currently '06 C5 2.0 HDi auto estate Tip run and France trekker - well should be!! occupied currently by '10 Superb DSG 170 elegance- whistles and bells that work

Old'uns you've never had the bing-bong well you are missing out, well it's actually more of a bing-bing if I'm honest, but never the less the suspension still doesn't move. I'll check the fuse, that should have been my first check but with the bing-bing working I assumed all was well in that department. Regards Alec.

Yep, the discrete 'ding-ding-ding' is half the fun.

This is all terribly lost on us Xantia owners :)

Pray, what is this ding-dong all about?

In the C5 estate there is a switch inside the tailgate that raises or lowers the rear of the car to make loading easier.
While it is being operated there is a constant 'ding-ding-ding' .
Only works with the engine stopped and the tailgate open, only operates on the rear suspension.
Fun to watch it return to normal when the tailgate is closed.

Not much practical use really.

Not on the hatches, more's the pity.

Saw my estate all fixed and ready to go last night :(
