Somehow, I don't think the seller realises he's got an Activa...

Given that the seller has not mentioned anything about it being an Activa, im thinking its probably not going to be functioning at its best ... :|

The seller might not know what he's got... it happens with Citroens!

I don't like the black wheels either, but the tasteless part of me thinks that RUNN might look good with a set of Activa alloys on it, refurbed and power-coated white... I'm not sure how well 205s would suit a TD though.. probably not at all.

I really dont like white cars with white wheels, cars need contrast, it would suit black much better in my opinion 8-)

You could always fit the standard size tyres to Activa rims ...

I've been looking at this one for a while, its miles from me ... but I WANT one. Almost everything about it says trouble, but I really want one ....

He has only had it a few weeks

He only has the new keeper supplement

Its high mileage (is that a problem ... do the engines die?)

I have spoken to him a bit about it and he says he "drives it around in low, which makes it bumpy/jarring" but that its better in high? I'm not sure what that means but it sounds like he might be ruining it driving it on the low setting?

I don't like the black alloys ... but I'd kind of like to fit steel wheels as I hear they are lighter?( again I'm probably wrong)

but the sad truth is I think I'm still going to try and buy it ....... I just can't get up there until Monday :-(

If any one is close and wants to volunteer to look at it for me it would make my year. Although I rather you didn't buy it I guess I don't have a right to complain if you do :-(

Am I mad to think of getting it to keep and look after long term ... are those miles going to be a problem?

ps I'm back in a X reg Xantia HDi 90 at the moment... the suspension isn't perfect yet but its getting there, just waiting for the hydraflush to work its magic and then its new LHM and probably shperes all round .....mmmmmm smooth 8-)

Sounds like he doesn't know what he's got TBH. Drives it around in low because it looks cool... and yes, it is jarry!

I'll buy the black alloys off you and give you a set of steels :-)

The miles won't be a problem as far as I know. A couple I know of have well over 100k and been well used - though serviced.

At that price, it's a steal, even if it's got a few faults..

He drives it in low! I can't see how as braking is next to missing in low ... Doesn't know much about Citroens then! Id be concerned.

Miles shouldn't be a problem, I have seen them with higher miles and the engines are usually very strong and reliable. Mine has 123K miles and is how it should be.

I wouldn't fit steels, not unless your fitting the correct size tyres too, as if your going to drive an Activa how it should be driven, you need the grip it should have and not on narrow tyres. Apparently Activa allos are extra strong to cope with the cornering forces ...

If you like it and if it is reasonable for the money then why not, though if its just to get an Activa I would be waiting for the right one to come along.

No for the black wheels , it looks like it's been messed with . This could certainly be a money pit , I would think nearer to .£300 or less tbh , I was given a 6 yr old activa in 2006 for free , it had a few issues but would have made a nice one but sadly I wasn't in a position to carryout the work so I had to part with it . I was offered scrap money for it which at the time was less than £150 . Even the Citroen specialist at holmfirth didn't want it as they had a very nice one with ram issues they were thinking of breaking . I eventually got £250 for mine and regret to this day parting with it . If I were ever to get another activa it would more than likely be of a forum member or through this forum where the knowledge exists to keep these cars on the road .
