By golly yes, there has been some work and I think Chris should be warmly congratulated for coming this far with a very difficult project and sticking it out. After all, it proved more than I could cope with...

Seriously, well done Chris!

Cheers guys, it has been an uphill struggle and on many many occasions has pushed me close to the point of scrapping it but thanks to the support of various people i've given it the benefit of the doubt.

from now on though it'll be very frustrating as the last few parts are annoying. watch this space though...

On the trip computer, have you tried pressing the end stalk button? I have a funny feeling I've seen this before on mine, think that's what sorted it.

Try pressing and holding it for a few seconds with ignition on.

where's ours then Kev? lol yeah you need to press the button on the end of the stalk to reset it, you have to do that to the clock/temp display on lower spec cars too or they just come up with a test screen with all segments lit.

ok not so big of an update as i'd like to give you. BUT i have taken her for a little drive (private land) and had her up to 60mph and can confirm that she rides well (ish, front is too hard) all the gears engage as i would expect brakes, well there's a slight delay so i'll rebleed them. The bumper needs to be reattached but the plates have all but been devoured by tin worm so i've had one side replaced with a nice piece of thick ally sheet, the otherside will get the same when i get some more sheet.

ABS, bad news, although the xantia mk20 ones work electrically they are too short to get close enough for the sensors to work, Bugger! will ATE ones suffice as ECP have them on at £50 each which is the best price i can find.

and now for the really bad news. The camboxes are leaking oil, only the exhaust ones so that'll have to be sorted.

Teves and ATE are one and the same. The sensor I bought for mine (Mk4) was around the same for the genuine ATE jobbie from GSF. Quite good really as I originally thought that ABS sensors were a nightmare to get hold of for the XM.
