Xsara Picasso Air/Con Not working!

Light on dash comes on with a press of the button but no compressor turning and no fans running. Took car for re-gas but they have told me it is full of gas. Any ideas? Looks like all fuses in drivers side fuse compartment are all ok.

Is there another fuse to run the compressor?

Assuming that it's a straight forward setup, I'd check for power to the electric clutch mechanism. Then go from there.

If the cabin fan has died, you won't get the compressor to switch on.

Does the heater blower fan work with the AC off?

Heater fan works fine(with a/c on or off), although is noisy when set on level 3 or 4. Like a rattling noise.

This is still rattling, it sort of increases with the revs and also as you go over speed bumps...but only when the fan is running. Anybody any idea?
