It was meant to be a light-hearted ribbing, citronesque.

I think you've missed my point entirely. I never said there should be a prize for everything with a X in its name. The forum is very heavily oriented towards hydraulic citroens which is good on one hand but not on the other.

If someone joins the forum with a ZX, Saxo, AX, etc.. (i.e non-hydraulic Citroens) there is a distinct reluctance to provide assistance to problems arising. How, therefore, can owners of non-hydraulic Citroens expect to turn up to rallies if their cars naturally deplete due to a lack of interest in them? They can't.

:offtopic:

Lots of issues which happen with non-hydraulic Citroens are common, in principle, to the hydraulic Citroens. Therefore, should we not be offering sage advice to those in need.

I had a problem with Sylv's ZX central locking that I started to look at again a couple weeks back and only malcolm (citronut) bothered to enter into a dialogue and the problem was finally solved - nearly ONE year after it started. It got to the stage where Sylv was considering getting rid of her ZX and would anyone who was at the X rally have been happy to see a car of that condition go to the scrappers - I think not!

Luckily, quite a few people took interest in her ZX so it has peaked her interest in looking after it a bit more and perhaps considering doing preventative maintenance rather than the usual curative maintenance. That can't be a bad thing if it keeps another Citroen on the road. :|

I had a similar experience last year with a large, well-presented Peugeot - entered in a Peugeot concours, but somehow wasn't an officially extant model. :? This year I'm going to park it with the XMs.

As to Dees "gatecrashing" events for other Citroën cars - it leaves me a bit underwhelmed, especially when in past years such vehicles as Xantias have been (by popular report) rather snootily received at Dee events.

Good point Addo!

Now that Citroen have stopped doing hydraulic suspension apart from the highest level specs then non-hydraulic will soon be the norm and the ZX and other non-hydraulic cars will be regarded in awe as fore-runners of the modern Citroen. Somehow I think not.

I'm die-hard hydraulics myself but would have myself a BX with normal suspension given the opportunity but you never see them come up for sale!
