Scenic front subframe

Unread post by centurus2400 »

A friend of mine has a 2005 Scenic diesel with about 85k on the clock from new.
It failed it's MOT last week on a list of items, the main ones being excessive play in a front subframe mounting bush/pin, and worn rear trailing arm bearings.

The garage say that the subframe bushes aren't available separately as replacement items, and the whole front subframe will have to be renewed at a cost of over £600 for the part alone.

I'm a bit  at this, and wondered if they're trying to pull a fast one or if this in in fact the case?

I haven't heard what she's' been told about the trailing arm bushes, I assume they can be replaced...
