I've considered it but as things are I'm very wary of any supply of R134a at the moment. Plenty of tales (!) of fake product, that is to say a mixture of various other refrigerants that don't work very well in a car setup for R134a but are flammable. Supposedly Honeywell had a shipment tested that was found to have all sorts of nasties. That seems to be the nature of things when prices rocket and products become scarce.

Well with R134a banned in all new cars in Europe by the end of this year, I suspect it is going to get more and more scarce. 3M haven't quite cracked mass production of R1234yf (the automotive replacement for R134a) yet either, last time i looked it was around $5000US for 13kg and you need more YF in a system than you do 134a. On the plus side, bar a good flush and maybe a new TXV, R1234yf will go into a system designed for R134a with only a slight drop in performance.
