Xantia Rear Height Corrector Adjustment

Ive VERY sucessfully corrected rear heights with the back on ramps and the front on the ground... Just look at it as though the car is on a hill! It works exactly the same...

Well, I don't know Paul but for me it's never been conspicuously successful but that's perhaps me. I hate adjusting height. Rattiva needs doing and I may well just throw in the towel and go and see Pleiades...

Or you if only you were nearer Maybe next time I'm in your Country... That's if they'll renew my Visa...

You can always put one side up on ramps or stands.

I often have two wheels on the kerb for under-car work as it gives both extra height and a margin of room for a quick but not planned exit!

And everyone installs servomotor driven vernier adjustment to the height correctors with sync'd control plips once correct height is set.

Then, en masse, the cruising convoy magically rise and fall in perfect unison...

Well turns out its going to have to be down hill, as only possess two ramps. Dave -

if you are doing it with one pair i would think it will be better faceing up hill as this will make the car more level,

I'm a bit lost with this talk of how difficult adjusting the ride height is and needing both end of the car up on ramps

As Paul states you only need to get whatever end of the car you are working on up on ramps, the other can stay on the ground.

Again as Paul states use the wheel arches to assess to the ride height, roughly three fingers clearance between the front wheel and arch, then the top of the back wheel roughly in line with the wheel arch at the back, simples.

To finely adjust the height, loosen the 11mm headed clamp bolt then with the engine running either pull down or push up the car to the required height and whilst holding it in position tighten the bolt, what's all this complication and fuss? 15 minute job including getting the ramps out and putting them back

Remember, don't stick your finger in the wheel arch while you're adjusting the height!

Too true! Even with a ramp they are a complete nightmare.

I had mine on a mate's four poster and, I cannot remember exactly, but it seemed to take hours before I was satisfied that the front and rear heights were in spec. It is trial and error.

Now if you had the proper Citroen Tool - life would be a dream! As it is a long lever, you have the leverage to move the adjuster minute amounts. A useful tool to have. Not sure if anyone has one on the Forum.

Definitely agree, I just pulled Cassy down to the right height, tightened the clamp and the job was done.

At work at the moment so cant find the pictures on here for the Rear height controller.

Cant place the 11mm headed clamp bolt????

Two bolts hold the RHC to the cradle.
Three bolts hold the cradle to the Car.
Two bolts hold the bracket to the Rear Anti roll bar.

Off at three today so probably going to have time to look tonight, just want to get clear in my head what I'm adjusting.

15 mins, may be a bit optimisitc though , but I'll give it a go.

follow the plastic clip dave to the anti roll bar clamp.. then the clamp it tightend with a single 11bolt... undo it slightly just to loosen it...
