Just having my first go connecting the Lexia to my SII . When I connect it the software is telling me to connect the AL04 cable. So what exactly am I conecting up to get the lexia to read the Xantia? Cheers.

Presumably I have all the necessary cable, have everythign below.

Ohhhhh, I didn't know you had a Lexia Ste.

I have a 2.5 XM that is misbehaving if you run out of cars to play with it on!

The AL04 cable is normally requested when using a genuine Lexia but anyway it refers to a charging cable for whatever computer the Lexia is running on, if your laptop has sufficient power then ignore the instruction.

Only got it last week Rob. It's available whenever needed.

Have been using it on the C8. Everything on the lexia seems to work as it should.

Only got back to connecting it bak up again yesterday. First thing I noticed is that there seems to be a lot less available info than when I hooked it up to the C8.

I have an ABS issue, that much is certain. But should I be able to see what sensor etc is at fault through the Lexia? The only thing I can see is in the stored fault codes that shows a wheel speed error, but no which wheel/sensor. The stored fault says it came up at 68km/h. I can get the live data for the wheels and but the car is currently off the road so cant go on a test drive to see.

Should I be able to see a similar amount of data to what I could on the C8?

The ABS stored faults tell which sensor it is by which wheel speed is wrong - normally It uses the LH and RH convention, RH being the driver's side in the UK on an RHD car...

Granularity of data is very much dependant on the age of the car. newer ones gives far more as technology improved. Newer cars also read a lot faster too...

Yes, you've got all the necessary cables

Even the ones that you don't need.

Slightly off topic

I have Lexia installed in XP and works fine but I wonder if it works with Windows 7 ?
Any experience, anybody?

I don't believe it will as Windows 7 (and Vista

) are written on very different codebases to XP.

Anyway, there would be nil advantage in doing so. XP is perfect for the job.

I saved it so I'll get the laptop out of the car in a bit so I can get the exact wording.

It's my SII 2000 reg 1.8 so I would have thought it would give me as much data as I can get from a Xantia.
