na, although i am tempted, ive just rebuilt the engine and unlike TCT's ebay will see you with a good return, anyway he needs a car and £200 to get this one back on the road and maybe a weekend on it is cheaper and less hassle getting another £300 car and sorting all its issues, Family eh........................my Poor XM looks on unloved

Got a bit of a tank slapper on the go there then

That wheel is impressively damaged Dean. I'm also impressed at how little money it'll take to make it good again :)

What is it, a 1.4 K-Series?

The 103bhps go quite well, not bad little cars actually.

Rover parts are super super cheap, i do have one advantage over you lot, my breakersyard prices are super cheap over here, i can buy a good engine for £70 complete so long as its not a V6 or 8, rads are £10 plus if i get all the bits in one go its cheaper, the guy at the yard has said my list is about £150, so with antifreeze and a bit of paint im nudging £200.

I must admit though, Rovers are cheap to run and nice little cars, take a gander on the bay for spares prices and see what i mean, just got a brand new GKN cv joint with gaitor/nut/grease/circlip and fixings for £13 off the shelf at a motorfactors not some guy shifting on some nos, unbelievable good value.

Chris yes its the 1.4 K, its the one to have imo

I had the task of finding a car for some old family friends a good while back, just when Rover had gone bust. I found them a delivery mileage 25 1.4 Si 5 Door in firefrost red for very little money considering. I thought it was a very nice and nible car to drive, they really liked it. I use to look after that for them, though it only required servicing.

Good luck with the repairs, they sound a very cheap car to own.

I was a bit dissapointed to learn on the Rover forum that the 2.0D is not the 2.0 BMW D as in the R75, shame! Though I do like the look of the 25 Streetwise
