I didn't say all BMWs are boring to me, some I do like, the odd looking 7-series is one of them. I don't mind them, not sure how high a BMW would be on my list of most wanted cars but im sure one or two would feature somewhere. A lot of them just don't really do anything for me, id take a 5 series over a Merc E class or A6 though. No doubting they are not good cars, a new (well, the last one) shape 5series touring would be quite nice, 525d or 535d perhaps. We are talking quite the other end of the scale to an Activa mind, which you did compare it to, so Activas can't be that bad

On that note, I do very much like the look of the very latest 5 series, certainly one of their better designs.

Despite how it might seem, I have interests in a lot of other cars other than Citroens. I really feel like trying something else next, not decided on what or when yet though! Im very indecisive, I think one year I had 5 different cars at different times as I just couldn't settle with one. 8-[

I'm with you there Chris, whilst I like Citorens and their Hydropneumatic suspension I'm not such an enthusiast that I'm blind to seeing what other manufacturers have to offer. I'm very fortunate that the two jobs I've had over the past 34 years have allowed me to experience many makes and models over extended periods. ATM I'm in two minds what to do with my DS, do I keep it or sell it for something very different such as an old Yank, I've only ever had experience of 1970+ 80's Yanks so I'm contemplating whether to go for something from the 60's such as say a Mustang or Vette with a proper V8, crude yes but I'm feeling the need to try something very different as I've done the European and Japanese car thing so in those immortal words "Now for something completely different"

Why not, if you feel like a change. You can't get very different from a 70s DS to a 60s American muscle car!

I did used to be into VW group cars, I attended most of the bigger shows around the counrty too, subscribed to VW driver etc. Ive drifted off VW group cars in the last few years, they have just become a bit dull and proved to less robust than our French cars.

Recently ive been buying Total BMW and Mercedes enthusiast mags 8-[ If only they did a Volv mag! :geek:

Ahh but there is, the Toy-boat-a Soarer!

They did a proper fully active suspension car with no ARB's, as apposed to the active anti roll bar design on the Activa.

Granted it cost about £60-70 grand when new, but still, they're cheap now. I'd love to give one a go, they only came in automatic 4l V8 flavour though!

That is true and I did know about that Toyota, though it had slipped my memory. Were they ever available here or are they all imported? Its hard to tell, so many Jap cars get imported and they then appear UK cars. There are so many Nissan Figaros around here, I must see a different one every few days!

I wonder what the Soarer thing rides like, probably very good if it has no ARBs at all.

I'm sorely (soarer..sorely... ahem.. sorry) tempted to get one, if I do I'll have to bring it to meet as I'm sure with it being hydropneumatic it should spark some interest from people on here!

I've always fancied Toyota Soarer after seeing it on Top Gear when it first came out.

I see one most days in Dark Blue on J reg. Looks cool.

Look forward to the Blog Dommo.
