Looking like some good work there fella :)

1 of the strut tops is near new and the other was going to need replacing sooner rather than later as they generaly fail at the same rate due to rust more than wear :(

Does she drive yet?
should be fun making sure the suspension sits right with the heavier lump up front!

Are going to stick another engine in the boot next ;) :D

I do hope you are selling the TCT engine on as they are very useful for spares and what not :)

There won't be a huge difference in weight between the 2.0TCT and HDi. No great worries really...

Go on Chris, what are you thinking now then?

yeah this trouble me .. i have no idea what is involved in replacing it. do i just need a better bottom plate?
KP wrote: Does she drive yet?
she sure does .. like a diesel :)
i still need to worry about sport mode.

the diesel lump is the same weight as the TCT :)
i was going to get another hdi and throw it in the boot :) (but someone bought that ratty hdi ..

nobody came for any parts so, TCT engine market seems to be saturated and there were several activas/xantias being broken ... we'll not discuss what happened to the spares :(

if she had cruise control, i'd be a happy Citroen guy.
or if i could stick the activa system to the new c5 hdi ... but Citroen have lost the flair ...

i like the expectation that i'll be thinking something bonkers (which i admit is a fair point) but on this occasion i must dissapoint, i just like the HDi engine a lot, and i like the activa system as well. seems like a good match

no i'm kinda disappointed :(

i guess i'll have to have the c5 hdi thrown into the activa :)

if i could figure out how to drive the rear wheels easily without loosing the current suspension - i would have a 4wd activa next ...

i still want a track day activa and if i win the lotto, i will do it, but preventing the destruction of activas is hard :( coupled with the fact that i need a cx prestige and an xm prestige (turbo petrol will do) ..l. act-tracky will be just a dream ... :(

Just buy an Alfa 166Q4. They've got as much "character" as a Citroën, plus 4WD and a V6...

Is this HDi powered Activa running?

I keep thinking about Activa with diesel power.
Only my vision is to take a 110HDi Exclusive estate (foundation suspension is Hydractive2) and convert to Activa

How much does the Activa suspension have to communicate with the engine ECU? (or maybe not, hopefully)

Yes it is running!!

If you are looking for converting an Exclusive to Activa, it is doable, the Activa additions are purely mechanical and do not connect to the ECU (I am open to correction on this).
My worries would be that the rear suspension on an estate is different to that one an Activa, so fabrication will be required.

Hi Davoxx
Thanks for your reply.
I have only just started getting into this.
The fact that the electronics are stand alone is very gratifying.
I realise the best starting point is a cra with Hydractive 2 as it has things like steering angle sensor which are nor present on the basic model.

My current car is an SX so is not the start point.

The start point could be to get an Activa. I would then appraise this for its drive and operating benefits and aim to have a set of working kit to transfer. (When building across to another vehicle it is good to know that the bits work to begin with and have not stopped working due to an instalation glitch)

Can also then assess feasibility for things like your mentioning of the rear suspension being different and whether I can adapt the subframe on the estate to take the Activa kit.

Big project but I'm quite engaged by the idea.
Actually I am quite impressed with the way the bog standard suspension works but it is suspension level 1 out of 3 on Xantias

Project Xantia 3rd Millenium!

Cheers
Peter
