C5 2.2 HDI lower ball joint woes
After having tried to remove the old lower ball joint I gave given up and ordered a replacement hub carrier from ebay. what I need to know is the torque settings for the front wheel bearing nut.
Its a French car, it has foibles, patience is a virtue

Andy,
I've never had a problem in undoing the front hub nut on any car i've owned. Just did my front outer CV joint today. 2 hours for complete job.
Impact socket, breaking bar and 6' scaffolding pole sucess .

I think the problem though was getting the balljoint out of the hub not undoing the nub nut.KennyW wrote:Andy,

I have remove 3 lower ball joints in the past by removing hub then applying heat to casing and using removal socket with either impact wrench or breaker bar with 6' pole attached
HUb is secured in a bench vice.
