synergie alternator

hi all.ive got a p reg synergie and the alternator light has decided to come on but goes out when i press the acellerator and ive found a hdi synergie in the breakers yard. would this have the same type of alternator on it? cheers guys

More than likely different as many HDi's have glow plugs to heat the coolant so have alternators with a much higher output but as long as the external dimensions are the same I can't see why it can't be used. Alternatively why not look for an alternator from a Xantia, Pug 406 with the same engine?

cheers dickie. should be able to find a 406 in the scrappy. what year do they go to and from with the xud engine in? cheers

From about '99 on but the 406 uses a diesel type auxilluary heater so don't know if the alternator is the same. If its the same size should be OK.
