I'm with Tim!!Chris, just by a BX and have done with it......
Is this a proper 900, and not the 9-3 type 900? I like the old 900s, classy cars, and recently took a 900 convertible for a test drive, very nice car.We have a nice yellow SAAB 900 cabriolet

Those Classic 900s are BRILLIANT cars, especially the Turbos too. Beautiful noise they have too! Really built well and I've proof of that as well as a 900 saved dad's life when a VW Transporter went screaming into the back of his recently restored rare Carlsson edition when he was pulling into the driveway.
I doubt many other cars would have took the impact.
Lovely cars though the Classic 900 - dad's got a full-pressure Turbo Convertible one at the moment.
A change from Citroen's is always good Chris as there are lots of other nice cars out there that don't have the chevrons on the front of them - it's nice to have a change
but you'll still come back to the double chevrons!

It looks like a 93 but is real SAAB and not GM, last of the line as there are three other seemingly identical ones with the same registration but they are all 93s.
She did have a real proper 900 a few years ago, a 2L 16v Turbo Aero-S that was a complete animal. How she got insured on that at 22 I will never understand. She was looking for another well fettled one like it then suddenly bought the Rover 75 after looking at a couple of Jaguar XJ6s, and I have to say, it isn't bad. Would be better with hydraulic suspension of course.
She jumped into the C5 a couple of days ago and said she found it easier to drive though, the C5 has better acceleration (despite two dodgy injectors) better steering and slicker gearchange. She still wouldn't have a C5 though.
Hers has the 2L BMW diesel engine.

Your right Franklin, there as so many cars which need to be sampled. Despite it might seem like I only ever look at Citroens its not the case, im interested in a lot of other makes too. All our cars, apart from the C1 of course, are quite big now, so might get something smaller and fun to dart about in. So we shall see, though the Activa is entertaining me at the moment.
Steve, the Rover 75 is a good car and the 2.0D BMW engine is a cracking unit, very tough and economical. We had a LR Freelander with the same unit, badged TD4 in that. It was great, performed well, returned 38MPG on average and towed our horsebox superbly.
I do quite like the Saab 900/93 Cabs, look classy, are quite and bargains too.

Very true Chris and I'm lucky that I get see and experiance a wide range of cars due to the nature of dad's work and it's far from just Citroens around here - a change sometimes is good in my book!Citroenmad wrote:Your right Franklin, there as so many cars which need to be sampled. Smaller and fun to dart about in...sounds like you need a Visa!
A GTi would be perfect but I've been waiting for one for three years and there hasn't been a suitable one. A friend has got a phase 2 AX GT in white that is for sale though...

Not really thought about a Visa, though they are in short supply and not hugely my cup of tea.
I remember my gran taking me to school in her E reg Visa diesel, it was red but faded, very dented and had an orange passenger door. It was a little embarrassing! Even worse after it got smashed into the at the back by a hit and run driver. Mind, it took the impact extremely well, it took years for the bumper to eventually fall off
It died a painful death, my gran used it until she gave up driving, then a friend ran about in it for a while. It then failed its MOT on a rotten floor (it lived right on the coast for most of its life) and so we scrapped it. It was low mileage but totally worn out. My uncle had ruined the gearbox too, it was very crunchy and had a place for 5th and 6th gears ... it was only a 4 speed. I never drove it on the road, but I suspect they are like our C15D, though a tad quicker
I like driving that mind but it doesn't get used much. I was running about in it the other day though, seemed nippier than it usually does
I forget that it stands out, it gets a lot of looks and at first in left wondering what people are looking at
I'm off Wednesday so ill get the Activa out, give it a good checking over, a good clean and have a better look at the rear ram. I don't like the idea of this little split in the gaiter causing a leak all weekend, though I think I have a short term remedy which will fix it until I get around to the rear deal.

Well it has been said that you have to be certifiably mad to own a Visa. If you own two on the other hand...
Many people have called me mad when they've seen my Special!
Sounds like the Visa made an impression on you then!
Dad tells me that the Visa Diesels do go well and are nippy little things while returning very good MPG. Unfortunately though there's not many left...

Wonderful cars.
I'd love that car Steve..
I'm a big fan of the GS. If only I had a garage to stiore it in I might have gone for it.
Trouble is, outside I fear it'll just dissolve
