Lexia and C8 cruise control.

Hi,

I've got a december 2005 citroen C8 2.2HDi and i would like to retrofit cruise control.

I've got Lexia 3 on my laptop and used it to succesfully install the genuine citroen towing electrics kit which was dead easy.

Using Lexia i'm looking for options regarding cruise control to make sure it's possible before i invest in the switch stalk but the only reference that i can find is on fault code reading.

Can anyone confirm if it is possible to do and how to do it?

Search on the forum for fitting cruise to other models such as a C5 as I think there are threads stating how to do it. IIRC you need to look for 'RVV' and activate that + maybe one other thing.

Go into the injection ECU & find the option RVV (French abreviation for cruise controll) & set it to present

Thanks for the info, I'm going to connect up tomorrow and try and find the RVV and injection ECU options.

There are a number of rumours floating around that the cruise control activation operation was disabled on either car or lexia software at some point, this was apparently to stop dealers fitting CC to cars in the workshop for less than the option when new. The factory option was near £400 but the parts and labour cost more like £100.

That would be typical of a manufacturer to protect their income.

Im not sure with the C8 but with the C5s some cars need a secondary brake switch installing to allow the cruise to work. I fitted it on my 2004 C5 and it worked fine just by adding the stalk and programming the car to have cruise with a Lexia.

preconditions for cruise control
car must have motorized throttle body - on C5s only the earliest (RPO upto 9443) had cables so this was not much of an issue; no idea how it is with C8s.
you will need an additional brake switch (if there's only 1, it's for the lights) and (I think) also a clutch switch if it's a manual.
my C5 was auto, but had the brake switch even though it didn't come with CC

if you don't have a motorized throttle, then lexia may well be not showing the option for you...

It's a diesel so it doesent have a throttle.

It's got a fly by wire electronic throttle which is ECU controlled and i've checked the pedals which have 2 brake pedal switches and a clutch switch.

Hopefully all i need is the stalk and a fair wind from the goddess Lexia!

I've found the rvv option in the injection ECU and can enable it, the stalk is on order from that auction site.

As soon as it arrives it will be fitted and activated, thanks for the help.
