I'm sure Xantia V6 is next on my list, I think.robert_e_smart wrote:You'll love a Xantia V6 Luke. A very impressive car. HBZ with all its faults was still a nice car to drive, sounded great with that blowing exhaust.
I'm afraid not. A drive in my Laguna today confirmed C5s fate. Limited space means I can't keep all the cars I want to, there's just no room for it I'm afraid. At least now I know there's another french V6 on our island and may crop up again on the market from time to timeWill you be bringing this C5 to the national CCC rally next month?
Going up for sale tomorrow. Robert - If you want a spin you'll have to be quick. Oh, and bring some LDS.....

Despite the dire warnings about the 'difference' between LHM and LDS, on digging it appears to be not that different (apart from the price and the colour!). C5's use the same leak off hoses on the front struts as Xantias.... LDS is probably a tighter spec and maybe different viscosity, but it's unlikely to kill it stone dead - unlike DOT 4....XantiaDaveEire wrote:Nor would i Your just looking for trouble if you doCitroenmad wrote:I wouldn't be putting any LHM near a C5!
Shame your visit to a double chevron is going to be short lived

Nice picture of the C5 Luke, is the rest of it worth showing?
I have had LDS and LHM in a previous C5, trust me they don't mix together, it almost ruined the pump.RichardW wrote:Despite the dire warnings about the 'difference' between LHM and LDS, on digging it appears to be not that different (apart from the price and the colour!). Coming from the steering rack, apparently it's shot and a hideous job to change on the V6. Auction time for the C5 I think!Dommo wrote:Where's the leak coming from? Front or back, drivers or passenger side, etc?
Not really....Nice picture of the C5 Luke, is the rest of it worth showing?
I could post a pic of a driveway covered in orange LDS if you fancy???

Not necessarily, depends where on the rack it's coming from - if it's from the ram seal then it's a gonner, however my Xantia had a leakage return pipe on the rack that wasn't attached any more, which while it didn't cause a leak, it could have. And that could always be the issue with yours? Worth looking exactly where abouts the leak is from.

Apparently it is split and already had some sort of bodged repair by a previous owner.
Ad has worked though, I have a viewer tomorrow! Hope they turn up
Hahahaha! It's vile, isn't it? It's had some steering wheel cover on it which has melted to the wheel. Disgusting.stevenc75 wrote:Spotted the Gumtree ad. Have you been chewing the steering wheel?
