I bet theres not a tool amongst that lot for doing the V6 cat to manifold joint....

Apparently someone in the ASK A QUESTION bit asked if the seller would split, cos he only wanted a 2mm allen key.

Do Snap-On sell anoraks also?

What a massive waste of money the whole thing is... They're tools, not collectibles.

If Snap-On did make anoraks then they'd be seriously good and last a lifetime!

Actually, that's quite true Adam, that kit has far more than anyone would ever need for any conceivable task in any conceivable situation. I'm amazed the seller didn't split it into manageable lots...

The rule is to have enough high quality tools to do the the work you do on a very regular basis and then slowly add specials as and when you need them. I've been doing that for 30 years now and there's still odd things I find I need. Namely, an enormous 3/4 drive breaker bar and some sockets to go with it and an 11mm crow's foot.

Is a 600mm long one big enough for the breaker bar?

Barely. It's the breaking torque you need to overcome, not the 100 foot-pounds or whatever your offending part may be officially tightened to.

Overcooking it with a short bar is a good way to tweak your back - better to have excellent leverage.

I was referring to the breaker bar that Jim needs to replace, if memory serves it was less than 60cm.

And a good way of shearing off the bolt too

This is one case where length does matter!!!

Ignore that one Xac... I broke that one years ago on a 205 hub nut. I replaced it with my three footer but keep the old broken one as it's useful as a pry bar and a short lever for my jack in confined spaces...

I never throw away any broken tools as they have their uses...

The one I really want is getting on for five feet long with a 3/4" drive 35mm socket at least for making easy work of hub nuts and lower swivels

I could do with a longer 3/8" drive breaker though. My little foot long one is a bit girly for some jobs and one half as long again would be most handy. I had to extend it yesterday to release Juliet's auxiliary belt tensioner...

That's when I reach for my five foot length of gas pipe to slip over the handle of the breaker bar.

Nothing has remained unmoved by this combination so far although my son-in-law managed to put a bend in the gas pipe doing the hub nut on his Synergie!
