Xantia 90Bhp HDI Engine Management Warning Light On

Unread post by wrinklet1 »

Hi all. The Engine management light has come on, on my Xantia MkII HDI 90 Bhp Sx. I had a in line chip fitted and it stopped working, the car would idle ok. I took the chip out and the car runs ok. But the engine warning light is light up all the time. The car runs 100% ok.
Now could I have disturbed something or could it be that after a certain length of time the light will go out?????

If it is nothing serious it should go out after three restarts without a recurrence of the original problem.
Otherwise it will need investigating.

Hi again, well I have given the car about 50 starts and the engine warning light is still on!!!!!! Could a sensor have been disconected? If so, would the car still run ok? Because the car is running as normal!!!!!!!

There's an option on the Lexia to clear the fault codes.

A lot of the time once the codes have been cleared they don't come back unless the sensor is actually faulty.

It could of been a sensor that gave an out of range reading that triggered your light.
