Leaky HP pump

Brilliant thanks Xac that's just what I was after. 2x 4026 88 it is then.

It's hard to say if the o ring 4 o-rings are leaking or not, it doesn't look like they are though..

They're probably not.
Get the 402688s changed and give the pump a good clean.

I will do cheers. That's this weekend's little job, along with a new fuel filter.

Is there any way of cleaning the alternator as I'm assuming some will have gotten into it?

the other thing to check is the three i belive pump body bolts are tight, as several times i have found on customers cars these to be loos and LHM leaking quite a lot from the body joint,

access the bolts through the pulley

Thinking about the cause of the leak, have you checked the state of your accumulator sphere?
If this sphere is pretty shot, pressure spikes from the suspension will 'hit' the pump doing it no good at all. As I understand it, the usual symptom is a leaky pipe union (or cracked pipe) but the flatter the sphere gets the more damage occurs.

I havn't to be honest with you. What you suggest does make sense though! I assumed that becuase the pump clicks every 90 odd seconds that the accumulator sphere would be in OK condition?

I do want to change all the spheres one day, I just need to make myself a pressure tester first. Don't suppose you have anything spare to make the tester adaptor thing with?
