Leaky HP pump
Hi folks
Sorry for starting yet another new topic but a search didn't come up with all that much.
Basically I've got a leak thats visible down the left hand side of the engine, ie everything under the HP pump. I've read that this can kill the alternator so I'd like to sort it. So... How many seals are there on the HP pump, which seal's 'go', where do I get them from, and how do I fit them?
Thanks

There's also a blanking plate on the back of the pump, basically like the union that the metal pipe comes out of but without any holes in it.
The o-rings are about £1.18 from the dealers.

Are the O rings sold separately? Last time I had to buy some (summer 09) I had to buy in packs of 10! from the main stealers of course.
Gone to the dark side.

Back leaks more on the block.Dommo wrote:Sorry xac I missed your reply when I replied. It's likely that the seal around the back is leaking because there's quite a bit down the block. Does that rear seal leak more onto the alternator or block?
Cheers.
Front drips onto the alternator slowly killing it.
From my experience anyway.
Use plenty of rag as a fair amount of LHM comes out when you remove the plugs.

Very slow reply here, but I've just taken some photos and I'm going to get some seals tomorrow all being well..
Here's what the servicebox shows my pump as:
Looks like the one with the pipe coming out of it on the left needs replacing, part 5 on servicebox
Judging by this next picture I definately need the seal closest to the pulley as Paul mentioned, however it's not marked on the servicebox picture so I cant get a part number for it, any ideas??
It also looks like that judging by my pictures the three 'part number 4' seals with the torx hole on don't need doing, but I might do them anyway.

The seal nearest the pulley come in packs of 5 . When you take out the 19mm plug there is no need to disturb or remove the spring behind it. Just pick off the old seal from around the plug threaded shank and the new one slips over and all the way up and into the groove.....just like a condom so to speak .

If the seals for the torx ones (o-ring 4) aren't leaking, then I wouldn't disturb them.
The pipe one and its blanking counterpart use o-ring 5 (4026 88) which are sold individually from stealers for approx £1.18 each.
Expect to pay up front.
