C5 particle filter additive ???

Hi steve , according to the BOL it is only pressurised when filling and there is no warning on the cap not to open . I suppose ot would be liable to pressurise if the nitrogen leaked back into the system . john.

But surely is should maintain the pressure? Removing the cap must depressurise it.

Hi the BOL says to pressurise it through the opening then replace the cap so the pressure would be lost as soon as the pressure device was removed ??

Can't see the point in that.
I have read that you should fill it while in the high position then drop it to normal to pressurise it but this is a stopgap as it should be done with a Lexia, can't remember the details for that though.

You don't/can't pressurize the suspension system with Lexia. The only time you pressurise the C5 suspension circuit is to bleed the power steering circuit & you do it with a coolant pressure tester pump & cap adaptor. They system pressurizes itself a little & you normally get a little hiss when you take the cap off.

Hi well no sign of a leak and steering still working OK . However just wondering if a sphere has lost nitro and the fluid has gone in there, I cant find it anywhere else . Regards John.

I'd expect really hard bouncy suspension if a sphere had collapsed.

As the LDS fluid is shared with the power steering there could be a problem there.

if you send me your chassis No. i will check as some picassos's do have an antipaloution system weather it be EOLYS fluid or the later type, not sure

I have a Citroen C4 Pissaco 1.6 automatic. what type of additive is used in the partial filters. In previous posts in this forum it mentions upstream and downstream flows into the fliter what does this mean

This could depend on the age of the car - originally it was Eolys, one of two different and incompatible types but I believe there are further developments of the fluid.
