Got the guy to come out and drive it himself , thus I REFUSE to spend anymore money on it if it's an engine problem. I'll scrap the car probably for the cost of the gearbox rebuild

Back to the garage! - running rough
Picked up the car from garage after it's diff , clutch change. Just got near my house and accelerated foot to the floor , car was warmed up well. It wouldn't fire properly like wet plug syndrome. Then it made this bang sound i thought the diff had gone again , but now it wont let me accelerate , keeps stalling. Squeeking coming from the car , popping , engine shaking , miss firing badly.

Neil, sorry to hear this
Chances are it's nothing more than a pipe hanging off the inlet manifold allowing air in. Very easy to do when doing such a job on a TU engine. Check for loose things generally around the inlet manifold and the problem should soon show itself.

Thanks CitroJim
Checked pipes looked ok , sensors are ok... engine itself was compression checked it's ok. No smoke out the back , it's looking like one of the ignition parts the garage said. Kinda what we expected but i keep saying to myself i refuse to spend anymore money , they've already had £500+ out of me !
