I sent a messge yesterday to the ebay replica badge people showing some
head on pictures of a genuine badge and have just received an email this
morning saying they've already made a larger badge which I can only
presume is from the measurement size I originally asked them about.

Ok, it won't have the chrome surround or rise off the tailgate as far as the
genuine article, though anything that says Activa on my Activas that don't
have any badge showing must be a good thing!!

I'm told a listing for this new dimension will be made on ebay tomorrow,
so watch this space or ebay!

Activa badges

Unread post by V6Activa »

Hi all

Some v interesting points being made. 2 pieces of info that may be useful for those seeking that illusive boot badge...

Firstly, if the on line supplier of the Activa door badges is going to produce the boot gel badge in the correct size then the surround could be obtained from a scrap AX/ZX/Xantia eg Dimension (early series) Stateside, Cascade etc - replace the original gel badge in the chrome effect frame with the ebay version - hey presto, as good as an original, well maybe. Could be your local dealer has some old stock of AX "limited edition" badges that may be going cheap.

Secondly, try to find an original...the Citroen UK only part number for the Activa tailgate badge is CIT 7381, who knows, your local dealer just may have one. The badge came with fitting instructions showing where on the tailgate it should be positioned

None to be found here in France, be good to hear if anyone is successful - if anyone comes across a cache of these I really would like one as a spare...

Bon chance :)

Good call checking all the alternative Citroen badges - I did think about
the Xantia Dimension one when the ebay seller offered to make bigger
sized badges but I've no idea what other models there are out there in
the Citroen range!

In case you contact the ebay seller with an "Elation" badge he's just come
back with a measurement of 133mm x 28mm for the actual coloured insert
area. Now I've even been back out this evening to treble check my original
measurement of my black Activa's genuine original and the width of the actual
clear resin coloured section is still 136mm!!

I guess with the 2mm surround of the chrome effect it makes the badge
width a nice 'round' 140mm measurement. This doesn't seem to stack up
so easily with the height mind as I'd go so far as to say mine is 29.5mm
deep so overall would be 33(ish) deep. The height certainly isn't 30mm...

So. Did Citroen really bugger about making a whole variety of sizes for
all their various badges for their special editions!? Anyone got a Dimension
etc who can measure their badge!!!??? Or is it me being a total spanner
with a tape measure (repeatedly!!). All these sizes appear too close to be
deliberately different!?

Could there be an new BeastieBoysesque badge phenomenon!? :P

Yay - they've come through after all! Additionally with an "amazing mirror
chrome background" fancy side badge:

and a resized rear badge but the image appears identical to the one for
the existing auction side badge:

I'll try buying a pair of the silver side badges and one rear for now and
see how I get on! :D If they've got it right, I could be one of their better
customers!!

To be fair - they're not that bad on the car, I'll admit I was a bit underwhelmed
when I first received them but it looks OK on the back of my s2 even if it isn't
a real Citroen one:

I've not fitted the side silver badges but they again match very closely the
real one albeit slightly shallower. I'll put up a pic as/when I fit a side one
though.

Activa rear badge update

Unread post by V6Activa »

Hi there badge hunters

Just had a chance to check some of my Citroen badges.

The AX and ZX "Elation" rear badge and the AX "Dimension" rear badge are exactly the same size as the Activa one so all one needs to do is work out how to remove the gel insert without damaging the faux chrome finish and then stick in the ebay available silver on black Activa insert.

Must admit I prefer the silver on black to the original door badges.

The part numbers in the UK were CIT7379 for the Elation and CIT 7377 for the Dimension. The badges were all made in France by 3M at their factory in Villebon-sur-Yvette.

Happy hunting :)

Activa Badges

Unread post by hattershaun »

Hi Folks,

Recently I purchased a pair of genuine Citroen Activa badges for the side mouldings of my car, still available as a new part from Citroen UK.

This part is still listed today on the Citroen parts website (http://service.citroen.com) with number 8663 Z9 and shows a retail price of £6.60 +VAT.

The original badge that was attached to the rear of the car had part number CIT7381.
Not sure of the groups likely reaction, but I have an unused brand new one in its parket sitting on my window ledge next to the pc!
I have considered fitted it to my car, but decided not to, as it wasn't original to my car.

I have a box full of new badges, many of them Xantia, that I acquired when a dealer was having a clear out. If there's interest then I'll dig them out and offer to group members.
