Seriously that sound like something that should be fixed sooner rather than later?

Its been a while, and after lots of balancing, discovering a tyre with a bulge in it, a new trackrod, and now a new full set of tyres I still have vibration through the whole car.
The new tyres have been balanced, then rotated 90 degrees to make sure they still balance.
Since the new tyres have been fitted, the vibration has moved to a different band of speed.
Does anyone have more ideas?

where did you get them balanced,I had a wheel wobble at 70mph for two years after Kwikfit did them twice,I took it to ATS two weeks ago and now there spot on its a dream driving at 70 mph now,I really do think most tyre companys don't have a clue how to do these stupid centreless wheels.

Hi Q for most of the tyres, and this last set from an indy.
I thought if the tyre was balanced then rotated 90 degress and stayed balanced that would be fine?

I popped into ATS here to ask if they can balance them, but they did not seem keen and think it must be something else on the car like the drive shaft.
They did say that it would need balanced with the wheel on the car, but noone in this areas appears to have a machine to do taht anymore.

It's best not to go down that route as you have to keep a very close eye on the wheel if you have to take it off for any reason. You only have a 25% chance of guessing correctly and any of the other positions will be wrong and possibly worse than an unbalanced wheel.

BTW, that assumes the wheel has 4 bolt holes. If you have a 5 hole wheel there's only a 20% chance of it being right!

Sometimes a tyre will need bedding in to the wheel. If you wait a couple of hundred miles before getting them balanced then this can be beneficial.

Perservere until you find somone with the correct adaptor for centreless wheels. They can be done!

This is a long shot but have you checked the wheels for buckles? That's becoming a bit of a problem with the increase in the number of cars with alloys and the worsening state of the roads/traffic calming measures, etc. On some forums there's regular postings of cracked OEM alloys, BMWs being one that springs to mind.

Hope you get it fixed, it really spoils the ride.

The only positive thing about the tyres is they grip on corners really well. Others have felt as if they slide and jump round corners at speed, but not these.
They are Goodyear Optigrips.

I would not be surprised if the wheels are duff. They have hit kerbs that I know of, and they were far from perfect when I got the car.
