DumpValves

Unread post by KP »

Does the standard Activa have a re-circulating dump valve fitted as standard does anyone know?

I can see the fittings for it on mine but its been blanked off on it for some reason....

Short answer is no it doesn't. Just the holes pluged.

If you do fit a Dump Valve the best place to conect the actuator pipe is on the inlet manifold just underneath.

I wonder why they did not fit one as surely it would help lengthen the life of the turbo sa you wouldn't get 'turbo stall' when you are trying to progress quickly thru the gears and it may shorten the 0-60 time a little bit as well as the turbo will still be spinning??

Think its been discussed before this one. It wont significantly shorten turbo life, because its only running a low amount in the first place. I also think changing gear quick enough without a dump valve gives better response than having the boost escape to atmosphere.

I was thinking more of a re-circulating type of dumpvalve, mainly as they can be gotten off many scrapped cars but also that they are much quieter in operation :)
