Anti-roll control rods

Unread post by SLYTZD »

Does anyone know where you can get the anti-roll control rods (13) from? I replaced the bearings (16) to stop it 'dancing' but the rods are very worn as well. Yeomans Citroen said they were £40 but they would have to order them which was going to take some time.

Activa Spheres & Control Rods

Unread post by SLYTZD »

I finally got around to ordering a set of control rods. Part Number C5273337 & C527338 - £36.18 inc VAT (@15%) for the pair if anyone's interested.

While I was in there I also enquired about the price of the Activa sphere's that feed the rams (3 & 4 in the pic) ...deep breath... £91 each inc the Vat. I now understand why people adjust the pressure of an accumulator spheres & use them.

Yes, an adjusted accumulator for the balancing sphere and an adjusted anti-sink sphere in place of the Activa accumulator :D

Standard Hydractive rear corner spheres work beautifully on an Activa in my experience...

Before I bought the rods I though I'd have a play with the adjusters to take out the slack then, spent several hours asking myself why I have to try to 'fixing' everything lol.

Haven't had much chance to see what it's handling like, just a quick rally round an empty industrial estate this afternoon. Seems to be handling & sitting ok though. Like you say adjusting the rods is not the easiest thing to do. I took time to clean & grease the adjusters to make life easier.

With the new rods fitted, measuring from the subframe it sits about 5mm higher on one side, I think the guide says something like within 1mm but when it's adjusting the height as you're correcting the lean it's quite tricky.

I think you're allowed 5mm!

Mine always sunk to the left when parked before the new rods were fitted, but sits straight now.
