I'd distrust the gauge accuracy, before distrusting the thermostat.

It gets to the upper edge of the thick white line for 80 if that makes any difference? Should it be an 82 degree stat thats in there??

Hi Will :D

An emphatic YES. The Activa should and must have an 82 degree 'stat so yours looks absolutely correct. They run too hot with a standard 88 degree 'stat in there I've found.

Delighted the burst hose has caused no damage :D Told you they're tough old birds!!!

Im quite surprised really as the coupe was a turbo too and would have killed itself by now im sure of it if it had a hose pope and the old R5 GTT would definately have blown its HG into the dust :)

Hopefully tomorrow the strut top will be an easy job for them as well, ill also see if they can do a quick lexia on it as im sure the suspension ecu would need a reset as they are so sensitive ;) would be nice to see how well it performs when it can be pushed into corners a bit more and with teh fault codes cleared :)
