Today after we had looked at some houses the temp guage started creeping up...
80...(things looked ok still) then 90....(both fans kicked in full speed)....100.....(start to panic and think it will come down soon...)....105, turn engine off as soon as i pull over before the warning light comes on but steam coming from the passenger side of the bonnet..
Pop the bonnet and poke around as the steam starts to drop off and from behind the airbox i can see something that looks a bit ratty....
Looks like a coolant hose has burst from age and has hardened up a bit as well. It looks to me like it comes from the thermostat housing heading towards the chasis leg then curls back off towards the bulkhead
At the curve in the pipe its perished like a kind of bomb has gone off. Im hoping i haven't made the head B.E.R. or anything else and that its not some stupid priced pipe that i need to get from citroen so i'll have to check PR net tomorrow when i get into work and see how much it is as i dont have the details to get into my PR net account at home.
had to wait 80minutes for the flatbed to come out and started her up for a few seconds as the engine temp had gone right down to under 60 by the time they arrived, just to get suspension onto full hieght, and then same when i got home to put her in front of the house.
Bit sad now but i hope its easily fixed and not a sign of things to come as im now super worried about the strut tops even though i crawled over some speed humps(not the sleeping policmen kind) at about 15mph this afternoon and avoid any potholes or rough looking roads and make detours to newer softer less harsh roads at the moment.....
Anyone know the part number for the pipe off hand at all???
She is still super shiney, still sinks on the passenger side when you switch the engine off and the accumulator still ticks like a metronome but that im hoping to sort at the weekend
