Seems we've all managed to gain access here through old open tabs or bookmarks into
the forum and I've found I'm always logged in.

http://club-xm.com/forum2/index.php?act ... ype=topics

The area of the site not accessible is the main index page or home when "club xm forum"
is selected or in fact the normal points of contact though the "my assistant" works allowing
selection of posts dating back days and months and the "view new posts" option.

The new posts shown are all linked to their respective areas such as "Xm Issues" etc but
you do need to go about things on a really convoluted path. What is most surprising really
is the database permitting new entries where you can upload a message with full editing
and quoting etc..

I've opened threads where Noz's entries have a whole raft of options to make contact and
these appear to open and work although I don't want to add to the extra burden of other
emails etc - Noz is obviously a busy bunny as he has mentioned on occasion recently.

Here's hoping for some normality sometime soon where the whole raft of contributors can
participate in this great forum together again!

Yes I've been on looking round Andrew. I've even saved an open page in my "Favourites" so I can get straight in there.

Very strange. I keep wondering if Chris has pulled the plug somehow. :(

It would seem that no one is aware that the site is down, can't contact Noz, I think he might be away.

Here I am also.

Hoping Noz will act quickly.

Wouldn't mind at all migrating here though, this looks like a safer place to spend time writing posts, if only there were model-dedicated sections...

BTW, anybody has "Citroenxm"'s (Paul) email address.

You won't believe this (I still can't), my water pump has failed again yesterday after a month of putting a new (old) one. I need him to supply another one if I choose not to scrap this car.

thanks

I don't see why that couldn't be accommodated if there is sufficient interest.

Hi george welcome to the fcf surely you have a claim against the garage for this job (they wanted enough to do it twice)

cheers

I will certainly be visiting here on a more regular basis, its a very good forum and a model specific section would be nice i think.

Thanks Mick and Dean for the encouragement but I think deeper problems have ben uncovered with this story. I suspect that my cooling circuit is overpressurised.

Since I bought this car the water needed toppin up.
-In summer 2007 I put a new expansion tank cap. Stopped loosing water and within a month heater matrix started slightly steamming the windows (never did before).
-Winter 2008 the expansion box cracked.
-Put brand new box and cap.
-Heater matrix deteriorated fast till it started leacking in the end of 2008.
-January 2009 I put a new matrix.
-100 miles after, water pump fails (leaks).
-"New" full water pump Feb 2009 that fails in exactly same way about 200 miles later.

So suspect I found the end of the thread after 2 years of fixing things.

Will take it for measuring cylinder compression, this should tell the story.

The other possibility is that it's all a coincidence and the garage that put the "new" pump used undersize seals in some water pipe connections. Will check this by trying to make photos to confirm the leaking point.

Even if I confirm that compression is low in one cylinder, still I won't know if it's a head gasket or a crack in the block or a worn lower piston ring, right? So repair becomes uneconomical and lottery-like. Now, if I was somewhere like central/eastern europe, I'd send it directly for an engine replacement and I could even do tricky stuff like put an ES9 instead of the PRV. Not even thinking about it in the UK -and Mick, my friend, unfortunately u r at the other side of hte country-.

So, since I don't have storage space, I might have to sell the car to someone with the space to take it as project. Shame because it's a really nice spec car that I intended to keep for many-many years. Had even bought a DIRAVI rack in case it went. Didn't expect it'd be the engine....

Will see, I need to ponder on it. I'm really shattered, only lately I had started enjoying the car's performance and smoothness.

cheers
George

I did have some time ago but can't find it anymore. His ebay user name was something like "thefloydrockson" obviously a pink floyd person. If you can track him down on ebay, you could message him from there.

Good luck.
