Peugeot Partner Gearbox
Struggling to find any info on these on the net, what kind of gearbox does the 2.5 diesel use? BE3? Would it be a suitable doner for my 405? It's a 1997......

Yes, a Peugeot Partner 2.5 diesel. I saw a relatively low miler being broken for spares locally, I thought it might be a suitable doner. I posted a thread about my 405 gearbox a while ago, it's crunching 3rd which I presume is the usual worn synchro. I thought maybe the Partner used a BE3 since it seems to be a common gearbox.

Best anyway to get a replacement 'box from another 405 or 1.9TD Xantia as there are a plethora of of different BE3 'boxes around with different gearsets and final drives. There are no external markings to tell you and van ratios may not suit a car.evilally wrote:I posted a thread about my 405 gearbox a while ago, it's crunching 3rd which I presume is the usual worn synchro.
Either that or get any old BE3 with known good synchros and use it as a donor to rebuild yours. The synchros are all the same and not as hard as you think to swap.
