Advice for recovering injector washers and seals

If the tip of the needle is still showing they should be OK. I changed the injectors in my XM at about 250k miles and the needle projection was not visible, presumably burnt away, but it was still running OK

I realised the fire seals are ferrous so thought I could use a magnet to extract the rest but the sleeve kept grabbing my magnet, telling me it too was ferrous metal so...

I wasn't able to get a clear close up picture to show you what looks very much like a black plastic top hat inserted updside down with a central hole the size of a small peppercorn.

...I'd like to revise that description to "...like a black ferrous metal top hat..."

However, seeing as none of them are loose or look damaged I think I'll leave them in situ. All seals are now off, thank you folks! Next stop, hire shop for a spring compressor.

Thanks for the thought! In a past life I did buy one but never used it again so sold it at a boot sale for a pittance. I was shocked to see they fetch over £30 in the shops and even used ones on ebay go for over £20 so you were lucky to find that so cheap IMO. I don't intend doing another head as I don't really have the facilities. Now bikes is different, I can keep it in the front room
