Is EGR valve just another inlet?

Unread post by MikeT »

I was pondering where I might be able to inject the N2O and remembered there's an EGR fitted (and still connected) to my inlet manifold.

Is the port in the manifold unrestricted or are there some other compnents inside that I should be aware of? I assume it's the remote solenoid that provides the seal against loss of inlet pressure?

Sounds like a good idea - provided the EGR electrovalve still works of course. Should not be too difficult sourcing s/h as they always comes in pairs.

Its just a bore on the inlet the EGR valve connects to. No metering nozzles or fancy things like that.

I've been advised it's not such a good idea to inject the nos in there but does anyone have a diagram or explanation of exactly how the EGR system works and if there's any cure-in-a-can cleaner to de-carbonise the gunk that is surely coating the inlet?
