My first Xantia V6 was a 98 but 'pre facelift'

My avatar is of my Activa, a MK1 in Dante' red. My V6 is a very early facelift (RP 7498) in Mauritius blue without sunroof or side airbags.

My RP is 7771. I have no sunroof or side airbags either.

Which one is the paint code? Is it CJ or XJACR?

And whats that engraved number?

yes awseome cars for the money.. mine is S plate 1998 with no sunroof, but airbags.

if you want to do a 'joint' cambelt one weekend let me know.. mine is on 80K - two heads etc..

yes throttle pedal moves when on cruise.. I have never had a CC car before but was a little suprised at this...

ooh and when mine is warm (and you restart it) - the idleing is lumpy while I think the Hyd pump is working hard.. sometimes the car will stall..

Idleing perfect all other times tho, so not going to mess

Yes i think you could be right about the idle vs. hydraulic pump, because my accumulator sphere is duff so the thing keeps clicking... it's in time with the clicks. It's not serious, and i won't mess either.

Doing the cambelt together would be good, have u done yours before? It'll be good practise to help each other out, let me know in good time when you plan to do it so i can get all the parts. Mine was dur at 80k, it's on 110k, and i checked the belt, it's all shiny with uniform metallic lines. Don't look too good really.

do you run SuperUnleaded in yours? I'm wondering if it'll be worth the extra cost?

no havent done mine before.. only mildly scared of doing it - at this stage..

I think I will take a look at mine too now you mention yours like that.

I havent ran SU in mine yet, but had no idea i would need a reboot as stempy mentions, definately going to try it now!..

Re belt, yeah can sort something, I am happy to come up there sometime, I have jack stands ramps hoist and enough tools etc, between us we should be fine...

I (or we, my dad and i) have a good collection of tools, some special ones but nothing to do a cambelt change on a V6 as yet, we have a pair of drive on car ramps, two jacks, axle stands, lots of thick wooden blocks, we also have a garage but that is for my dads car only, he's very fussy.

The hoist would be handy tho.

If you can PM sometime yea we'll sort something out, where u from?

I need to take the radio out to get the code for it before disconnecting the battery. I know where it is, and it's a secret. 8)

... hasn't happened yet, it'll have to be done sooner rather than later, i don't want metal bits all over my engine bay.
