HDi 110 Xantia CAM BELT 1999

Hi All,
Is the changing of the cambelt on HDi 110 a DIY job, by that I mean have you got to have any special tools?. It looks a bit of a messy job, with all the bits and bobs hiding where one wants to be at. . Will have to do my sons's too, as he has an HDi 90 ( he can get his hands dirty, Dad will watch, lol)

I've changed the belts fitted to XUD's in BX's, 205's and 2.1 Xantia's many times but not so far on HDi's - it's still to come! Looking at the manuals, it doesn't seem to be much different to XUD's other than the HDi doesn't have the auto-tensioner.

I'm doing mine right now.

I can translate some parts of it for you if needed.

You need a a good 22mm socket + t-bar to undo the cranckshaft bolt.
A FACOM DM.16 or equivalent to check the belt tension.
I have also bought a FACOM D.86 flywheel stay (not very expensive). I had to file it a little though.

remember the HDI diesel pump is not timed - no need to ref lock its axle
